Welcome to Foothills Podiatry
I opened Foothills Podiatry in April of 2023 so that I could provide a service that is friendly and honest; an experience that starts with your first call to our office. As your podiatrist, my commitment is to facilitate your swift recovery and protect your long-term health.
I spent my childhood in Vancouver, British Columbia. After college, I moved to the Bay Area where I interned as an ophthalmology technician. Shortly after my internship, I enrolled in podiatry school in Chicago because I enjoy working with my hands and also the prospect of someday becoming a surgeon lead me to pursue this path.
From a young age I received training in visual art with a focus on portraiture and still-life using mediums like charcoal and graphite. I also received training in musical art; I was the principal second violinist for a prestigious local youth orchestra at Place des Arts, eventually becoming concertmaster of my high school orchestra. Perhaps unsurprisingly, those experiences ultimately led me to a profession that demands empathy and attention to detail.
After completing my surgical residency in the Henry Ford Health system in Michigan, I moved to Phoenix and started my career as an associate in private practice. During this time I saw firsthand just how frustrating it was for some of my patients to navigate our increasingly impersonal healthcare system. My greatest fulfillment is patient advocacy. I started my own practice because empathy is my brand and I believe everyone deserves a dignified healthcare experience.

Foothills 3D Lab is our newly established in-house design and fabrication division, dedicated to creating practical and patient-focused items via fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printing using thermoplastic filament to create intricate and durable objects layer by layer. This is why we at Foothills Podiatry take the time to educate you about your foot and ankle conditions, ensuring you understand the nature of the issue and the available treatment options. Conservative care first: While Dr. Chen is experienced in reconstructive surgery, he prioritizes conservative care whenever possible. Our goal is to explore non-surgical treatments first, as we firmly believe in the power of preventive and conservative measures to promote healing and relieve discomfort. However, when surgical intervention is necessary, rest assured that you are in the hands of a skilled ABFAS board certified surgeon with your best interests at heart.
Payment Policies
Foothills Podiatry will perform it’s due diligence to verify insurance coverage prior to your visit however it is ultimately the patient’s responsibility to verify their own insurance eligibility and benefits.
Please note that insurance is not a guarantee of coverage and that any balance not paid by insurance is the patient’s responsibility.
If you are on an AHCCCS or HMO health plan, please obtain a PCP referral before making an appointment.
Cash pay options are available to uninsured patients or those with high deductibles. We do our best to ensure the cost of your care is transparent and affordable. click here for a complete list of cash fees.
